Can I get an Amen!?!

Here's the thing. Religious people are the most ignorant, self centered, arrogant, judgmental, hypocritical, mightier-than-thou excuses of human beings that exist.

You might be thinking, "Tyler!!!! How can you say that!?!?"

Well folks, it's simple. Think about almost every war the world has ever seen. Genocides. Crusades. Mass murders. School shootings. The list goes on. Religion has roots in two things: 1) Fear of death, and 2) the human need to be superior.

Part of me can't blame Religians. Is that a word? Like, people who are religious? Well it is now. Most Religians, sadly, were forced into their religion by their parents. These parents make their kids attend sunday school, or whatever other nonsense the other religions have for their kids. (Christianity is REALLY my favorite) And these poor kids are brainwashed before the age of 10. Being a supporter of Nurture in the whole N vs. N argument, these kids are just tainted with ill conceived notions. It would a real eye opening sequence of events to make these "believers" wake the hell up.

Ask any man or woman of faith why they believe what they believe. In my experiences about 30% will tell you that they don't really know, 20% will spout off some garbage about saviors or men dying for sins(which is FANTASTIC because that is basically magic, which SO MANY religions condemn. Salemn Witch Trials, anyone?), and 50% will get offended and tell you off with how they don't have to explain their beliefs to you. This is just...agonizing to me. People dedicating their morals, values, and entire lives to what can only be a good story at best!

People misuse religion. It's used as a tool in politics, to buffer your image, and as reason to fight. If religion were perfect. There would only be one. Then maybe I'd be able to buy into it. At best, it should be a set of morals to live your life by. But even that it pushing it because people can't keep it to themselves. If other people aren't living like you then they're wrong. This delves into the idea that people just need to mind their own business! I mean, there are moral values people can have without religion. It's pretty simple. Don't kill people. Don't steal shit. What else do you want, Religians!?

What just kills me the most is how religion has done and continues to do more harm than good. Not only do these religions refuse to coexist or even acknowledge each other in a positive manner, but they clash to the point of violence and death. This world would be a much better place if religion didn't exist. I'm not saying that it would be perfect, that's the beauty humanity, it can never be perfect. But there wouldn't be all this animosity in the world over who's imaginary friend is best. Because I'll tell you all right now that mine is the best.
